オリンピックも終わり、もうすぐ運動会シーズンがやってきますね。
町内に学校、毎週どこかで運動会という方もいるのでは？

『運動会』は”athletic meet”という表現が代表的です。
他にも”athletic meeting”、”sports meeting”、”sports festival”
なんていう言い方もあります。

Many elementary and junior high schools hold athletic meets around this time.
One theory holds that it is because the probability of rain is the lowest during this part of the year.

ウソか本当かわかりませんが、気象庁によると確率は低いそうです。

There are often events for the parents, children will get excited.
Many fathers experience muscle soreness in the next day or later.
Be careful not to overdo it!
